pepline vs Drift
Drift is being wound down. Here is what it did, and what to use now.
A lead-facing agent that interviews visitors and returns briefs, live behind one script tag.
Enterprise conversational marketing. Sunset announced by Salesloft in March 2026; no new contracts.
Overview
Drift pioneered conversational marketing: chat on the site, playbooks, live routing to sales reps. Salesloft acquired it in February 2024. In August 2025 an OAuth breach hit its integration tokens and Salesloft took Drift offline in September 2025. On March 6, 2026 Salesloft announced a gradual sunset, with 1mind named as the successor for conversational marketing. No new contracts are being signed.
Credit where due: the enterprise bot builder was genuinely strong, and the category exists because Drift proved it. But the job it did for most sites, put a conversation in front of visitors and work out who matters, is the job pepline does today, live behind one script tag, with a brief at the end.
pepline is live, at a published price. Drift signs no new contracts, and its maker has named its replacement.
Bad fits get a kind decline with a reason. Drift routed and booked; the sorting fell to your reps.
One script tag and a flat package, not an enterprise playbook build with a five-figure annual bill.

Which one fits you?
- the job is inbound work on a service business site
- you want briefs, not routed chats
- you need something you can buy today, at a published price
- you are an existing Drift customer riding out the migration
- you need enterprise conversational marketing, which now means 1mind or Salesloft
- live reps jumping into chats is the core of your motion
Do not buy a product whose maker has named its replacement. For enterprise conversational marketing, look at 1mind or Salesloft. For inbound work on a service business site, that is pepline's one job.
Pricing
Drift never listed prices publicly; reported contracts started around $2,500 a month and were sold annually, which made sense for the enterprise revenue teams it served. Whatever replaces it in your stack, price it against that reality, not against a chat widget.
pepline is a flat monthly package: Basic is €19/mo with 30 conversations included, Essential €59 with 75, Growth €99 with 150, after a one-month free trial capped at 10 conversations. Unlimited agents and knowledge sources, monthly, cancel anytime, no automatic overage.

Quick answers.
Is Drift still available?
Not for new customers. Salesloft acquired Drift in February 2024, took it offline after the August 2025 OAuth breach, and announced a gradual sunset on March 6, 2026. Existing customers are being migrated, and Salesloft has named 1mind as the successor.
What should Drift customers move to?
For enterprise conversational marketing with live reps, 1mind or Salesloft itself. If what Drift actually did for you was work inbound visitors on your site, pepline does that one job: it interviews each visitor, filters out poor fits, and returns a scoped brief.
Was Drift any good?
Yes, honestly. It invented the category and its enterprise bot builder was strong. It was also heavy, priced for large teams, and often misused as a plain chat widget. Its wind-down is a strategy decision by its owner, not a verdict on the idea.
